AssistantConnect / AssistantConnect 4S is a tweak recently released in Cydia that allows Apple users to use Siri without a proxy server. The tweak is available in two versions, one that has to be installed on the iPhone 4S and one that has to be installed on older Apple devices but it works only if you have Spire installed already so you have to install that plugin too.
AssistantConnect 4S has to be installed on a iPhone 4S where it has to opened and you have to use Siri while it is opened and then click on the Email Siri Data button.
The tweak will send a file by email to another Apple device which contains some tokens that are required to connect to the Apple servers.
On older Apple devices, open the email, access the file and choose Open in AssistantConnect and the file will be opened in the respective application and you will get a message warning you that the file was loaded.
After that message you have to go to Settings > Spire and insert the https://guzzoni.apple.com URL in the Proxy Host field.
After you do that you can use Siri without problems on your device. If you have a iPhone 4S be warned that Apple can block access to it’s servers for offering tokens to other users who do not have a iPhone 4S. Unfortunately, the file sent from the iPhone 4S is only valid for one day.
If you have an iPad tablet you can use the same process however after you install AssistantConnect and Spire you must first go to System/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app where you have to open the K93Ap.plist with a text editor and search for:
<key>ipad</key>
<true/>
And you have to change it to:
<key>ipad</key>
<false/>
After this change go to Settings > General > Siri and activate it.
AssistantConnect works on iOS 5 / 5.0.1 and it is compatible with:
iPhone 3GS;
iPhone 4;
iPhone 4S;
iPad 1 – probably;
iPad 2;
iPod Touch 3G – probably;
iPod Touch 4G – probably.
