Adele, Ed Sheeran Favored to Win Brit Awards This Tuesday

Ed Sheeran has more BRIT Award nominations that anyone else this year; however, the likely leader in taking home the most awards will be Adele. According to LadBroke’s, which is a bookmark that provides the odds on such events, Adele will walk away with the female category, as well as the award for best album. Adele won all six Grammy’s in the United States earlier this month, including song and album of the year.

Adele is the world’s bestselling artist for last year, selling more than six million copies of her album, “21” in the U.S. alone. There were no odds given as to who would get the best single, but there aren’t many people who would be surprised to see “Someone Like You” take home best single.

Ed Sheeran is up for best album, single, male solo artists, and breakthrough act. LadBroke’s believes that he will take home the awards for the last two. Sheeran is not quite the household name that Adele is, even in Britain. Sheeran and Adele are both scheduled to perform at the award show tonight, which will be held in London at the O2. Adele performed at the Grammy’s and it was her first performance after having vocal cord surgery last November. The Brit Awards, though, will be a sort of homecoming for Adele, though.

Sheeran is known for his bright red hair and is an acoustic guitar playing singer. He’s had hundreds of performances in small venues, finally breaking rhough in Britain in the early part of last year. His breakthough album, “+” has sold over a million copies and his fans are somewhat obsessive. They refer to themselves as “Sheeranators,” but critics aren’t always kind. Peter Robinson described Sheeran as the “New Boring.” However, Robinson also labeled Adele as the “Queen of Boring.”
