ABC has ordered pilots for four new series – “Gotham,” “Zero Hour,” “Penoza,” and “Devious Maids.” These four pilots have some great writers behind them, including those from “Heroes,” “Prison Break,” and “Twilight.” Of course, some of these pilots may flop, but the premise behind them really sounds rather interesting.

Gotham” is about a female police officer who finds a magical world hidden inside New York City. Most normal people can’t see it and it’s got the same landmarks as the Big Apple, but in a magical way. The show will be written and co-produced by Michael Green, the writer for “Heroes.” The executive producer is Erwin Stoff.

Zero Hour” is about the editor of a conspiracy and skeptics magazine who finds himself in the middle of one of the greatest conspiracies of all time. This drama will be writing by Paul Scheuring, who was responsible for “Prison Break.” He will also be an executive producer, as will Dan McDermott and Lorenzo DiBonaventura.

Penoza” will focus on a widow of a criminal that was assassinated. She is forced to accept the role her husband played in a crime syndicate in order for her family to be protected. Mellissa Rosenberg, who wrote “Twilight,” is the writer. The producers will be Howard Klein and Alon Aranya.

Devious Maids” is a soap opera/drama that is based around four maids who want to work for the rich and famous living in Beverly Hills. The writer, Cherry, who also penned “Desperate Housewives,” will also be the executive producers. It’s a takeoff of a Mexican television show about similar circumstances.

These four pilots join ABC’s eight other drama pilots that include, “Last Resort,” “666 Park Ave,” “Americana,” “Gilded Lillys,” and “Beauty and the Beast.” It looks like ABC is about ready to fight for some television viewers.
