You need to first clear your mind about the stereotypes that are going to follow the BlackBerry PlayBook 2 as we review it. This is a product that is still being developed but already the cynics are claiming that it is bound to fail. The reasons that they give are not particularly convincing especially when you consider the kinds of products that are selling very well on the market today. There is really no reason to be too skeptical about the chances that this product faces when it moves out to the real market that demands almost complete control.
The brand has been damaged by poor quality production techniques and therefore the BlackBerry PlayBook 2 is going to get the hard version of a review. There is simply no room for making mistakes especially given the kinds of things that are at stake. RIM is at the heart of the project and their track record leaves a lot to be desired. The problems for the organization are primarily going to come from the competition that is being given by the smartphones that dominate the sector at this moment in time. In particular they will have to compete with tablets which are able to offer portable compatibility.
Consumers are spoilt for choice with the Amazon Kindle Fire as well as the Samsung Galaxy Tabs. We are particularly worried about the poor operating system that is being proposed. This review notes that any of the specifications will always fall short of the standard that has been set by the OS network. You have in-built applications but they are not enough to sway the consumer. The keyboard is nothing to write home about. On a positive side you get some native e-mail capabilities as well as the contact systems that have been a signature tune for the brand.
We anticipate that the BlackBerry PlayBook 2 will contain a decent messenger service to appeal to the office class. We are also broadly complimentary about the attempt to bring applications into the mix. The pricing strategy might be attractive when they realize that there is lots of competition.
Despite the best efforts of RIM, this review concludes that the BlackBerry PlayBook 2 is always going to be a dated version of the current crop of top contenders. The lack of dynamic operating system is fatal for the gadget.
