Texas Rangers slugger, Josh Hamilton recently apologized and shared few facts about his relapse with alcohol. It was clearly evident that the slugger was very saddened by what he had done. Hamilton who is also a recovering drug addict said that he had a couple of drinks during dinner at a restaurant in Dallas. Adding further, he said he continued drinking late at night. During a news conference on Friday, Hamilton said that he is going through some personal problems. Adding further, he said that he is not proud of what he did and was here to apologize. The slugger said that the social networking site, Twitter got a bit more excited. He assured that he didn’t take any picture of himself having a beer with someone. In a press conference on Friday, Josh Hamilton, the Texas Rangers outfielder confirmed his relapse with alcohol.
However, the slugger didn’t elaborate or give any concrete sign about what those things were. Previously, while he was a part of the Tampa Bay organization, Hamilton was suspend for more than 3 years for alcohol and drug use. As a result, he was out of the entire 2003, 2004 and 2005 seasons. Nonetheless, he has become one of the best players in baseball on a team that has won the last two American League pennants. In 2010, Josh Hamilton was AL MVP. In a statement, Hamilton said that his close people were hurt due to his actions. During his entire 12 minute appearance, the slugger didn’t take any questions and seemed embarrassed. Speaking further, he said that he did not consume any kind of drugs nor did he have any intentions to do so.
Currently, Hamilton is examined on every Monday by the doctors as part of this mandated routine. This is his 2nd known alcohol connected relapse in 3 years. After Hamilton’s public explanation earlier in the day, he emerged as scheduled at a Christian men’s rally in Katy on Friday night. He also didn’t take any questions at the congregation. Lastly, Jon Daniels, General Manager of the Rangers said that Hamilton will soon meet with Major League Baseball doctors for an assessment of his recovery.
