There was a lot of anticipation when it was announced that the Hunger Games would be going to the theaters in March. It is a film that has managed to capture the imagination of the viewing audiences despite the relatively high profile PR campaign that would otherwise spell doom. The cast of the show includes Josh Hutcherson who is 19, Liam Hemsworth who is 22 and Jennifer Lawrence who is 21. The cast is going to visit 8 cities as part of their national mall tour. This is the kind of film that is specifically supposed to appeal to the younger generation and therefore we must commend them for the excellent selections.
Finding time to promote Hunger Games
Apart from the three actors who have been mentioned above, the tour is expected to include Gary Ross who is the director. They start off on the 3rd of March, well in advance of the planned screening on the 23rd of that month. Apparently they are also planning to sell some merchandise that relates to the Hunger Games. It is far too easy to argue that this nothing more than a publicity that is designed to extract the maximum amount of money from the public that are interested in the film. The itinerary also includes Dayo Okeniyi, Leven Rambin and Amandla Stenberg who will be joined by Hemsworth. Jack Quaid will be part of the party on the 6th of March. The venue is the JW Marriott Atlanta Buckhead.
The tour then moves on to the Scottsdale Fashion Square on the 7th of March in Arizona. They have included the Westfield Fox Valley which is located in Illinois. By all accounts this is going to be a fairly busy trip where the cast will be able to meet potential fans. The template for marketing a film has already been set.
