A Game Review of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Special Edition

Introduction: We have come to the conclusion that this game review has to concentrate on a hybrid horror movie. That is exactly what you get from Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Special Edition. They are particularly using the third person narrative in a creepy fashion. You are involved in the action without actually playing a part in the development of the story. It takes real design acumen to achieve that sort of contrast.
Highlights: In this game review we concentrate on the practical and stylistic aspects of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Special Edition. The game falls in the period between the Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 series. One might accuse of them of deliberately extending the storyline in order to secure a competitive advantage. There is no law against that. Moreover we feel that they have been effective advocates for the franchise in as much as the yare faithful to the original concept. For example you get the same features in terms of the gaming facilities. There are two playable characters that acquire personalities depending on the approach that you want to take. We are intrigued by the Umbrella Security Service which almost appears to be a mockery of the American penchant for hyperbole.
The enemy list in Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Special Edition is quite long. You will not be short of people to hate but at the same time they are working very hard to ensure that you enjoy the experiences. The adversaries can take on a human, zombie or even alternative character depending on your approach. The support system works with four players across the board. We love the fact that you can play the standard characters on and off line depending on the download selections that you have made. The story begins in 1998 with the ill fate that befell the Raccoon City. There is the work of the top scientist Dr. William Birkin who is attempting to sell an environmental G-Virus to the USA government. A self-injection mistake means that the virus starts to mutate with deadly consequences.
Pros: We must say that we were not hoping for much from Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Special Edition. Nevertheless we were surprised by the depth of characters and their development once we started the game review.
Cons: You have to admit that many of the storylines appear to be airlifted out of a horror movie. They should have been a bit more imaginative.
Editor rating: For the reasons expressed in the game review above, we are of the view that 4 stars out of 5 are sufficient for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Special Edition.
Rating: 4.0
