The much anticipated Consumer Electronics Show 2012 has begun in Las Vegas. One of the most anticipated shows of the year in the tech world and by tech fans has started on a high note, as it has brought forward some noteworthy gadgets and top class hardware. However, in order to make this event work, hundreds of employees are needed to help 150,000 or more attendees of the show to get around on the Strip and at the convention.

One of these employees is Holly Coombs, who has been working with Consumer Electronics Show for six years. Holly makes a whopping $125 per day to make sure traffic flows swiftly. Holly said that she including the other workers get on the bus station around 6 am and then work their way till 8 PM in the night, after which she said she goes to bed again and do the same routine for seven days. Holly said that if she wasn’t working for CES, she will not have a job right now, which makes her glad that the CES takes place there every year.

For many workers, conventions are very beneficial. Rosie Anderson is another example of such workers, as she the seventy four year old has been working at the Las Vegas Convention Center for 7 years. Rosie said that she gambles with the money she earns at the Convention Center. Rosie said that without this money, should could live but she couldn’t enjoy.

Apart from the CES, there are other conventions that are going to take place such as NAB, the National Association of Broadcasters. Another such conference coming up in MAGIC, and more and more of these conferences means more and more benefits for the workers. While the workers working at CES benefit from the convention, cab drivers also benefit as they get to drive around more, earn more and get high rates for their services.
