“True Blood” Season 5 Trailer Released – “Nothing Stays Buried Forever”

There a small taste of season five of HBO’s hit vampire drama, “True Blood,” finally available. The first preview has been released and with it comes a rather ghastly warning: “In Bon Temps, nothing stays buried forever.” This will likely turn out to be the theme of the entire season.

Without a doubt, the return of Russell Edgington will become a highlight of this season. Played by Denis O’Hare, the ancient vampire was buried in cement in a parking garage. However, there are other things that will apparently not stay buried, either.

Other than the return of Russell, there is a lot of speculating as to what the theme means. Here are four of the best ideas, but until the show returns in June, no one will know for sure.

First, it is likely that Sookie’s fairy family and friends will find their way back into the storyline. There’s a lot more to learn about this side of Sookie and there has been another actor cast as the fairy Claude. There must be a reason why he is returning.

Terry’s war buddy, Patrick, first came on the show last season in the finale. Scott Foley is returning as Patrick, so most viewers want to know what Patrick might know about Terry and why he’s chosen now to come back into Terry’s life.

The Vampire Authority has increased their staff, as well. Last season, things got a bit out of hand, but there are reports that four new members will appear in season five. Christopher Meloni will play one of those roles.

Finally, there must be something coming for the werewolves. Marcus met a rather violent death in last season’s finale and there could be some significant consequences. Marcus’s mother is supposed to appear this season and it will be interesting to see what she’ll want.
