The Samsung Galaxy Attain is a 4G phone with a very eye catching design. It runs on Android 2.3 and is only supported on the MetroPC 4G LTE connectivity network. The smartphone offers a decent camera that can take better than average photos. I also noticed through the test phase of the review that the phone is decent in performing. The only problem I faced during the review was not with the phone actually, but with the network MetroPc offers. The connection isn’t the fastest or most reliable I have come across.
Design wise, the Samsung Galaxy Attain is pretty attractive to look at. It has a glossy black finish and a silver rim running on the sides. The phone isn’t the thinnest I have come across, but it definitely stands out from others in terms of design. The set is also quite easily held in your hand without the fear of slipping.
The Samsung Galaxy Attain comes with a 3.5 inches touchscreen that has a HVGA resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. The screen is fairly decent and offers great looking colors and enough brightness. The only problem is that operating it in sunlight will cause most of the screen to fade out. The set comes preinstalled with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface, running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. If you have used Samsung’s other Android phones, you will feel quite comfortable with its operation.
Earlier in the review I said that the Samsung Galaxy Attain has a really good camera. I’m glad that the 3.2 megapixels camera at the back actually takes better photos than some phones which have 5.0 megapixels camera. The phone also has a front facing 1.3 megapixels camera that can be used for video chatting on the 4G network. The only problem is that MetroPC’s 4G LTE network is still not good enough. I felt the network to be choppy and lacking in seamless experience, causing my video chat to go offline again and again. If you do not use video chatting too much, then the network is pretty much okay. For those looking for a stylish phone, the Samsung Galaxy Attain is a great choice.
