The Droid Razr was released in the U.S in last November as a part of Verizon-Wireless exclusive phone. The phone had everything a smartphone enthusiast wanted, and even after doing a review for it, I was left impressed. The only major problem I found with the phone was its battery life, which wasn’t good enough for a phone that is excellent in every other aspect. With Droid Razr in your hands, you had to always keep a charger with you, whether it was your home, office or your car.
It wasn’t only me who complained about the short battery life of the Droid Razr. If you search around the internet for other reviews, you will clearly get the idea what I am trying to say. Almost all critics complained about the short battery life of the phone. And it seems that Motorola has finally heard us critics and you the users. The company is now re-releasing the Droid Razr under the name Droid Razr Maxx, which will have extended battery life. There isn’t any other change in the phone except its larger battery.
Those of you, who loved the thin, sleek and sexy design of the Droid Razr, might be a little disappointed with this decision. With a bigger battery, you can easily expect the phone much thicker, and it has already been confirmed by the company that the new version of this phone will be exactly 0.35 inches thicker. The original Droid Razr is only 0.28 inches thick. Both of the phones are really thin, however, it won’t be retaining its title of the thinnest smartphone available anymore.
The other specifications that were a part of the original Razr included a 4.3 inches touchscreen, a 1.2GHZ processor and a powerful 8 megapixels camera at the back. The camera was particularly good because it could also record full 1080p videos. The phone also came with preinstalled storage of 16GB, which is quite a lot for a smartphone internal storage. The price according to the company will be the same as the original Droid Razr.
