YouTube has redesigned its website with focus on channels. A channel is curated list of videos picked by any celebrity or specific YouTube member.

The revamped YouTube website now shows that channels are being displayed on the home page of the site similar to news feed feature found on popular social networking site like Google+ and Facebook. Several experts have said redesign might ask people to spend longer time on site, though some users disliked the change.

After 17 hours the release of the official “Get More Into YouTube” video clip that explained that the move went live 6,703 members clicked the “dislike” button compared to 2,280 “like”

One of the member wrote, “The layout is a mess ! Why can’t I remove vids which I have already watched?” Few other messages include “R.I.P. YouTube” and “Change it back”, though some members complimented the change.

In a blog posted by Google, YouTube’s owner said that the new design was “focused on helping you discover a broader range of entertainment”. The blog also said that “further tweaks” might be coming depending on the feedback of the members.

The blog highlighted the fact that the website now offers deeper integration with Facebook and Google+ thereby helping members to view what their friends were sharing without leaving YouTube.

Broadcasters channel like Channel 4 and BBC are promoted.
