The Bamboo Connect by Wacom is an average tablet for drawing that is both decent and low priced. The Wacom Bamboo Connect is here to prove us a single point that the prices of tablets have gone down so much that many options have been opened. If you want a very basic drawing tablet that gives you the necessary gear to sketch stuff, the Wacom Bamboo Connect is your ultimate choice. The only problem with the tablet is that it does not include an eraser or alternate button on its drawing pen. Because of these two important ingredients missing from the tablet, it becomes hard to recommend the device as a main source of drawing. This review will focus on the design, specifications and features of the product.
Design wise, the Wacom Bamboo Connect is very simple. It has a very generic tablet design that makes it slimmer than its predecessor, but due to lack of some features, it is inferior to it. Wacom has also included extra space on the side for apparently no reason. The tablet is made entirely of plastic and offers textured surface to hold it. It has the same drawing space as its predecessor which is enough and I was able to comfortably draw stuff during the review.
The low cost version of this tablet lacks wireless connectivity, but you can detach the USB cable whenever you feel like moving away from your computer. The tablet series has a total of three different models that offer extra features if your work is not as basic as it sounds. The review unit I got is the CTL470 version of the tablet.
All of Wacom Bamboo Tablet models are supported on the Windows 7, XP and Mac OS editions. Installation of the device is fairly easy, you simply connect the device using USB cable to your PC or Mac and then use the software bundled with the device on DVD. Anyone with basic computing knowledge should not have any problem installing the device. The Wacom Bamboo Connect is a very low priced decent tablet, however if your work consists of advance drawing, we would not recommend it.
