The recent hacking attempt at Stratfor left authorities concerned as it was the newest hacking attempt by an unidentified person or group. Previously, the hack attempt led to suspicious eyes looking at Julian Assange and WikiLeaks because of the sought links between WikiLeaks and Anonymous hacking group. The newest update on the hack attempt is that hackers have now released additional data taken from the Stratfor breach. The data includes credit card numbers and email addresses of unknown people.
Writing as AntiSec moniker on Pastebin, it was mentioned that there are links present to download the data, available on different sites, few of which were taken off around mid-day time today. The dumping of data has been done after the hacking group released a list of Strategic Forecasting clients on Christmas day, the 25th of December. Previously, when the data was released, hackers also issued a warning about having more sensitive data which they have and will release, which includes unencrypted credit card data.
The post made by the hacker/hacking group wrote earlier that it is time to dump everything including 75000 names, CCs, addresses, md5 hashed passwords to every customer who has given money to Stratfor. It also said that they will also dump 860,000 email addresses, usernames and every password that has ever been registered on the Stratfor website. The post also said that the hackers sympathize with the Australian billionaires and the poor DHS workers, the former getting robbed by LulzSec but then went on to write about how they (me and you) have been robbed about the government agencies, corrupt politicians and others and it is now time to get it all back, read the post.
In a statement, the company took notice of the newest disclosure of information. The company also said that the newest release of information is not a new hack attempt but the information is being released from the time when it was obtained from the first hacking attempt.
