Six Companies Want Supremacy On The Smartphones Chip Market! Qualcomm Look Out!
We all know that the smartphone phenomenon intensified a lot these last few years. Just to get a idea, tens of millions of smartphones are being sold each month world wide.
Currently, the company that dominates the smartphone chip production, quantity wise, is Qualcomm, but we got wind that something is in the works on this market.
Japan company NTT Docomo issued a press release announcing a partnership with five companies – Fujitsu, Fujitsu Semiconductor, NEC Corporation, Panasonic Mobile Communications and Samsung Electronics – to develop and sell semiconductors for mobile devices. The companies will establish the terms of the partnership by the end of March 2012.
On the other hand, Samsung already manufactures their own chips – the future Exynos 5250 2 GHZ model being developed for the next Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab devices – who’s performance is believed to be only matched by Apple. And of course we are talking about top companies that can only target top positions!
