With technology moving so fast in the world of PC building, processors and graphic cards require more and more power to operate. Many manufacturers are making strong graphic cards and powerful processors that no longer can operate with a decent power supply. For enthusiasts who overclock their PC, power supplies play an extremely important role, without enough power, your components can easily produce low quality results and even suffer hardware damage. ThermalTake has been long in the market catering to problems that relate to custom made PCs. The company has actively been producing power supplies, heat sinks and many other devices. The review will discuss on the features and design of the power supply.

The ThermalTake TR2 TRX offers 650 watts of raw power. The company has promised enthusiasts that this power supply is capable of giving them the power they need. The ThermalTake TR2 TRX features a single +12V rail that is enough for reliable power source. The PSU is PLUS Bronze certified which means that the component is 80% efficient during most of its operating time.

The cooling fan is based on 140mm ball bearing which provides cooling to the unit. The PSU is also covered in specifically designed silicon pads for it that effectively reduces the vibration and sound caused by the fan, meanwhile also increasing the air flow and cooling capacity of the fan. For any enthusiasts, the PSU ships with a bundle of huge wires which can be attached to the power supply as needed necessary.

For those who need extra power when opting for nVidia SLi or AMD Radeon Crossfire setups can easily get enough power through the extra cables provided in the box. For the review, I used a machine that featured 2 AMD Radeon HD 6590 cards with Core i7 2600K clocked at 4.2 GHZ. I tested Batman: Arkham City on the machine and it worked perfectly on high graphics. The following cables are included with the PSU: 1 power connector, one 12V connector, six SATA connectors, one floppy connector, four PCI Express connectors and six four pins. The ThermalTake TR2 TRX is a great 650W power supply that offers great raw power for enthusiasts.
