Cyder 2 is the sequel of the Cyder project which is a Windows program that allows iPhone / iPod Touch owners to install .deb files directly from Cydia, but also those downloaded off the internet without the user having to open a Internet connection open Cydia or install any other program on the iPhone.
Basically, the program downloads the files from Cydia and transfers them into a Cydia folder named autoinstall. After they are copied the iPhone has to be restarted and the applications will be automatically installed.
Cyder 2 now comes with a new layout, a few new features and from our point of view it is the simplest way of installing .deb files on your iPhone or from Cydia if you don’t have a Internet connection.
Unlike the first version, Cyder 2 now has the option of copying all Cydia sources directly in the program thus making your work of adding sources manually much easier, but it also ads an option of copying a specific application along with all it’s “dependencies”. Meaning, alogn with the rest of the files that have to be installed so that the respective application/patch/add-on can work properly.
For the moment the program is in beta, however you can download the RC1 version of Cyder 2. We haven’t used it but the first version of the program did a pretty good job, without problems or errors so the Cyder 2 version also has to work properly.
