Game Review: GoldenEye 007: Reloaded

November 3, 2011 by: 0

In this review, I will talk about GoldenEye 007, an action game for the PlayStation 3.

When GoldenEye 007 was first released on the Nintendo 64, it took the gamers by storm. It was loved by anyone who played it and the game made itself as the most popular agent 007 game ever. Last year, a remake of the game arrived on the Wii and offer similar fun and addictiveness that the original offered. Now the game has been remade with better graphics to suit the current generation and it has made its way to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Will it offer the same kind of fun the original offered? To find out more, read our review.

To start my review, I will talk about the design and features of the game.

GoldenEye 007: Reloaded adds a new story to the game, which is kind of a good move, since we have already gotten accustomed to the old story. Many scenes from the original game have been redone and the developers have added extra sequences to those scenes, altogether giving the gamers a new and unique yet familiar experience. The campaign mode is a bit short on hours, but it offers plenty of fun for those who wish to play solo.

Moving further down the review, GoldenEye 007: Reloaded introduces a new mode known as the M16 mode. The M16 mode pits you in a single player scenario where you must complete missions based on objectives.  You will be able to perform defensive, stealth and offensive actions. Although the mode is a great idea to continue giving players more content to play, it does come with a little bit of broken A.I. You will often see same opponents appearing again and again throughout this mode, which gets a little boring. But thankfully, for the mistakes it makes in the M16 mode, are easily forgettable when you play the multiplayer or campaign mode.

To finish off my review, I would say that GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is a great remake of the classic game, it not only gives the player the opportunity to relive those great moments form N64 days, but it also throws a lot of new content and better looking visuals at them.
