PlayStation 3 Game Review: Eufloria

In this review, I will talk about Eufloria, a strategy game for the PlayStation 3.

Eufloria is one of those games which boast a unique and weird design. It’s one of those games which you never thought would be coming out in your wildest dreams. It boasts a very unique and weird concept, but thankfully it also gets it done pretty well.  The game concept is entirely original and interesting, unfortunately though, some design elements are out of place, which stops this game from becoming a massive success. To find out more, read our review.

To start my review, I will talk about the design and features of the game.

Eufloria is a Real Time Strategy game at heart, but instead of soldiers and bases to build, you get to command something entirely different. The army and base building is being replaced by seeds and asteroids. Every mission starts with one asteroid at your command, from where on you command several seedlings. These seeds are your resources and military power. You can spend seeds to plant trees. These trees are of 2 types and different in nature. The first tree, named Dyson tree, produces more seeds for you to command over time, while the other tree is tasked with to defend your area if any invaders come in. When you have made enough seeds and trees on your current establishment, you can send your seeds on a mission to obtain new territory.

Moving further down the review, Eufloria’s sound and visual design is what makes this game so unique and pure. The design at most is minimalistic, while keeping it clean and understandable. Eufloria can easily be called a piece of art with its design and sound.

To finish my review, I would say that Eufloria is a very unique take on the RTS genre; fans of the genre should definitely try this title out. Though it may not be the greatest because even its RTS gameplay is very minimalistic, but still the time you spend on it mostly goes satisfied.
