In this review, I will talk about Orcs Must Die, a tower defense game with a twist for the PC.

Let me brief you on the tower defense genre if you haven’t got any idea about it. You start by place towers alongside a path where waves of enemies come and your towers try to stop them. You must build towers in the right position and the right kind of towers for different types of enemies and attempt to stop them from reaching your castle / base. Now days, the tower defense genre comes with a twist, the developers let you use a single character to control who acts like a commander with his/her own abilities, bringing a twist to the tower defense genre. Orcs Must Die is exactly something like this. To find out more, read our review.

To start my review, I will talk about the design and features of the game.

Orcs Must Die is a brain child of Robot Entertainment, responsible for the development of Halo Wars and Massively Multiplayer Online version of the Age of Empires. The title of the game suggests all you have to do, Orcs are invading your castle in thousands and you must do everything in your power to stop them. The reason Orcs Must Die is so different from other tower defense games is because it puts you in the feet of an avatar, which has a plethora of traps at his disposal.

Moving further down the review, the real charm of the game lies in the traps you place. Every time you complete a level, a new trap is handed over to you. These unique traps are what make this game so fun. With so many traps, you have the freedom of killing orcs the way you want to. There are traps like panels which throw orcs into the water and traps with spikes.

To finish off my review, Orcs Must Die is an excellent tower defense game with so much variety, its hard to miss this game.
