According to a recent report, it was revealed that a new application on iPhone will soon be launched that will help in improving the eyesight. The time a person wears contact lenses or glasses may be lessened by the app’s usage.
The application is called GlassOff and is currently being developed by Ucansi. The app is expected to be launched by the end of this year. The app is most likely to perk up the eyesight of people who have a typical eye age of 50 to that of a 40 year old.
Furthermore reports state that a 10 year reduction in the eye sight may be achieved after forty sessions using the application. From the trial run which was conducted at the University of California, Berkley, it was also found that a person may be able to read a sentence at a much faster pace if he uses the app regularly.
Basically the application shows a white circle on a green background and then several images in numerous places on the display screen. Furthermore, the images which are at random places on the screen may be distorted patterns of lines or can even be pure black. According to the new scientist, a person then has to select definite ‘gabor patches’ that show up on the screen with the white circles.
However, it is still unclear as to what the basic science behind the app is. It seems as the main aim of the app is to make the eye gently exercise. Considering the fact that the eye is a muscle, an eye workout will help to maintain its freshness.
While speaking to the New Scientist, Uri Polat, co-owner of Ucansi, said that their motive is to use the human brain as glasses. Adding further he said that every change is taking place in the Brain. He said that the application may not completely get rid of the glasses but it can surely lessen the time a person wears glasses.
Lastly, the app is predicted to be priced at sixty pounds for a total of three months.
