Mobile Phone Review: Sonim XP1300 Core

October 22, 2011 by: 0

In this review, I will talk about the Sonim XP1300 Core, a feature friendly durable phone.

Sonim is a phone manufacturing company known for producing cell phones that are built to take a little more extra spanking. The Sonim XP1300 Core is exactly what the company wants, durable and rugged that can take a lot of beating and still not break. Ruggedness isn’t the only good thing about this phone, the controls are easy to use and the audio clarity is great. The drawback includes its lack of high end apps and features, which we believe should have been there. To find out more, read our review.

To start my review, I will talk about the design and features of the phone.

Sonim is the only phone manufacturer that challenges people to break their phones, which is why their phones are extremely durable and nearly impossible to break. The Sonim XP1300 Core is designed to withstand falls and it can easily dip inside water and not malfunction. The waterproof design is something a lot of durable phones are lacking. The phone also has a very rugged structure equipped with a rubber grip, which is extremely solid when held through heavy gloves.

Moving further down the review,  the phone features a 2 inches screen which is covered by the infamous Gorilla Glass coating. The coating itself protects the phone from breakage and scratches, but it isn’t impossible not to break it. The screen supports a resolution of 320 x 240, resulting in a very average output. There are plenty of phones out there with better looking screens than the Sonim XP1300 Core, but very few are covered with the titan like powerful Gorilla Glass. The interface of the phone is quite easy to use and anyone can easily change the core setting of the phone.

To finish my review, I would say that the Sonim XP1300 Core is a very good phone for anyone who works on the field. This phone can withstand almost all kind of tortures, and it should be held by people working in the field where everything is hardcore.
