Despite increasing economic worries, buyers in the United States of America shrugged off the problems going on in the weak economy and purchased pickups and SUVs in the month of September. The increase in sales of pickups and SUVs came as a big surprise for the automobile industry of the economy and has raised hopes that the highly oscillating year will rather end on a better note.

Sale of big trucks increases particularly when the construction and housing industry are on a strong trend. Big trucks also sale when price of gas is low and the confidence of consumers is high. None of these supporting factors were present in the month of September. The state of the economy is bad, while consumer confidence remains shaky and price for a gallon of gas is a dollar high if compared with previous year’s month of September.

However, other factors were responsible for boosting the sales of trucks. Small scale businesses in the country eventually have to replace old trucks with new ones, while automobile companies placed some good offers to wipe the stock of model trucks of 2011 clear. They also increased their game in marketing. Another factor that can be identified and associated with the increase of truck sales in the United States is the fact that Americans have adopted economic uncertainty in their lives.

From the September of 2010, vehicle sales increased in the United States by 10%. The statistics were revealed by Autodata Corp. Pace of sales in September was the highest since the month of April and automobile manufacturers are expecting that the pace in car sales will remain steady for the remaining of 2011.

Moreover, yet another factor that has boosted growth of sales in September is car owners substituting their existing trucks with new ones. Since the on the road time of their old trucks was peaking towards end, truck owners were driven to purchase new trucks, resulting in an increase of truck sales in September.
