Google announced on Monday the first integration between its social networking website, Google+ and blogging platform, Blogger that will allow users to replace with their Blogger profiles with Google+ profiles.
In the list of advantages for Blogger users of using Google+ profile include providing the readers “a more robust and familiar sense of who you are” and having the post surface with annotation in their social connections search results said Google.
Vardhman Jain, Google software engineer said in a post, “Plus, bloggers who switch will automatically get access to the Google+ integrations we’ll be rolling out in the future.”
However, as Google+ needs user to use their real name the profile switching idea might not be a good idea for bloggers who wish to publish under pen name. “That’s why we’ve made it completely optional to switch”, wrote Jain.
The option to replace your Blogger profile with Google+ profile is available in Blogger In Draft. It is testing site where Blogger users can switch on the new features before they are generally available to everybody on Blogger.
The officials of Google have made it clear that Google+ just won’t be a social networking site, but a service that connects all the Google products altogether and adding social components.
