In this review, I will talk about Bulletstorm, a First Person Shooter for the Xbox 360.

Bulletstorm is a very different shooter from your typical Call of Duty and Battlefield games. It has some of the best gameplay mechanics you will find in a shooter game. The tag line says it all, Shoot With skill, you are required to make different combos on your enemies and shoot them in style for points. You get different weapons in the game and each weapon asks you to perform kills in different manners. Every time you score a stylish kill, you get yourself points that can be later spent on upgrades. To find out more, read our review.

To start my review, I will talk about the features and design of the game.

Bulletstorm has a unique gameplay mechanic that makes it stand out from other shooter games, unfortunately though, the same cannot be said for its story. The story is extremely cliché and un interesting. It tells the story about Grayson Hunt, an outlaw who used to be an operative for the confederates. He works with his fellow outlaws to harass and annoy his former commander. The game starts with you attempting to attack the main area of operations for the confederacy. The whole plan of striking down the confederacy soon becomes chaotic and you crash land on a different planet without anywhere to go. That’s when you are introduced to the game’s unique Leash weapon. The leash weapon allows you to pull enemies toward you and kill them in a slow motion matrix style.

Moving further down the review, the leash soon becomes your most prized possession, you will find yourself often pulling stuff that is more than the enemy. You later are provided with different set of weapons that have a set of skill shots, each skill shot has a different requirement and forces you to kill your enemies by shooting them in different areas. This mechanic is the highlight of the game and it becomes really fun to practice once more tough and fast enemies start popping out.

To finish off my review, I would say that the Bulletstorm is an amazing shooter. If you enjoy  games that require you to use some skill to shoot stuff on the screen, this will have you busy for a long time.

I just got Bulletstorm from my Blockbuster Movie Pass a few days ago. I am sad to say that I have completed the campaign in just a few hours. The game play and the skill shots are fun for a short time. They get repetitive as you are lead by the nose from stage to stage. Most of the skill shots are set up for you just to knock them down. No skill is required. For all the hype of this game, I am glad I rented it. Instead of waiting for the mail to bring me the next disk in my queue, I am going to go trade Bulletstorm in store. Disappointing games like this are the main reason I had the Blockbuster Movie Pass added to my DISH Network employee account. I was tired buying a new game just to be let down. That’s $60 down the drain. For $10 per month I can rent all the video games, DVDs and Blu-rays I want. I can even stream to my computer or TV. Maybe Ill get Duke Nukem instead.
