This is because up till now, Softbank is the only carrier that has been authorized to sell Apple’s product in the tech-ridden country.
The report by Nikkei sent shares of Softbank plunging by a whole 12.9%. Softbank’s shares, after falling, stood at 2,282 yen, whereas KDDI Corp closed 0.78% down, after doing away with the earlier increases.
In February, Apple put an end to its solid alliance with AT&T in U.S, when it permitted Verizon network synced iPhones to enter the markets.
