In this review, I will talk about BloodRayne: Betrayal, a downloadable game for PlayStation 3.

If you remember correctly, BloodRayne has already spawned a full action film feature and a game. BloodRayne never got popular because both the game and film were beyond terrible. BloodRayne introduced some great unique ideas, especially a sexy vampire chick who kind of like resembles Kane from the Legacy of Kane series. BloodRayne is really nothing about anything else other than killing vampires, so it’s a war between vampires in the game. Although the previous game and film left bad taste in everyone’s mouth, BloodRayne: Betrayal far precedes both in every way. Find out more in our review.

To start off my review, I will talk about the features and design of the game.

BloodRayne: Betrayal was first revealed at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, and to be honest, it was one of the biggest surprises of the event. The game features old school side scrolling gameplay which is extremely satisfying. As soon as you pick up and start playing BloodRayne: Betrayal, you will immediately remember Castlevania from the SNES era. The game features the exact same gameplay style that most of us have come to love about Castlevania, this is why BloodRayne: Betrayal is excellent. You can see the similarities between the two games because the developer Wayforward has already developed a game in co operation with Konami.

Moving further down the review, Castlevania inspiration is seen all over the game. The game pits you through extreme difficulty, so be warned, if you are someone who has less patience, you must not play it. The game spawns about 15 levels of gruesome difficulty for you to finish. The enemies and stages both get tougher and tougher as you progress through the game. If you enjoy massive boss battles which are both fun and extremely challenging, you will be satisfied with BloodRayne: Betrayal.

To finish off my review, BloodRayne: Betrayal is an excellent game that takes most of its inspiration from Castlevania, so if you are a fan of the Castlevania franchise, you have to play this.
