PC Game Review: Hard Reset

In this review, I will talk about Hard Reset, a First Person Shooter for the PC.

Hard Reset is an experience that will remind you of the past. While many FPS games today tend to add extra features such as story, character progression and RPG elements to the game, Hard Reset stays true the basic formula of shooters, which is simply shoot everything on your screen. Hard Reset makes you grab your mouse and keyboard and have you blowing every single thing you see on your screen. It does suffer from repetitiveness, but the action that is available here is insane, which is enough to make up for the repetitive nature. To find out more, read our review.

To start my review, I will talk about the game’s features and design.

Hard Reset does not feature an interesting story. The whole concept of the setting is explained through comic style art cut scenes which can be easily skipped. So for anyone looking for a good story, Hard Reset definitely isn’t the one with the best tale. Most of its story feature stuff that you won’t even understand if you even do try to listen and read what the cut scenes try to tell you. The heart of the game lies within its gameplay, just like any old school shooter does.

Moving further down the review, thankfully, the shooting mechanics featured in the game are enough to make you forget the game’s lame story. Hard Reset features a very old school sort of gameplay, which has you looking for weapon ammunition and health packs, while blowing the shit out of monsters that respawn in certain areas of the game. The game features very few kind of enemies for you to fight, but the good thing is that all of them are well made and you will mostly enjoy the straight forward shooting. The difficulty of the game rises as you keep progressing in the game.

To finish off my review, if you are someone who has gotten bored of playing the next generation shooters which fail to provide you with the basic shooting mechanics, Hard Reset will definitely have you remember what a true shooter is like.
