Gadget Review: Tenda W300D Wireless Router
In this review, I will talk about the W300D wireless router from Tenda.
Tenda is a Chinese company that has only recently started manufacturing wireless routers; this is why the W300D is at best a very basic router. The website of the company is hosted in china and does not have an international website yet, so it will be hard finding software that supports versions in the US and UK. The good thing about the Modem/wireless router is that it is the cheapest solution available in the market. But for its cheap price, it does not feature anything that other routers have, such as the support for gigabit Ethernet or a USB port for external sharing. To find out more, read our review.
To start my review, I will talk about the features and design of the phone.
You might also want to read:
The Tenda W300D does not feature a rich web interface that almost all routers have by default. The interface included in the router is of the lowest quality available yet. Fortunately enough, all the settings and tweaks you need to start using the modem/router are here. The modem has 2 antennas which allows above average transfer speeds at best. At short range, the router performs well, but at far away, it becomes really hard to even stay connected for prolonged periods. The speeds tested with the router are good enough for the price it ships for.
Moving further down the review, fortunately, the router is quite easy to setup. All you need to figure out is what DSL line connection does your line support, once you find that out, it’s just a matter of entering IP addresses to make it work. Tenda W300D offers very basic functionality, so if you want to use it for a small business, this is a great solution.
To finish off my review, I would say that the Tenda W300D is a basic router, so anyone who is concerned with security and stability, should try looking for better options.
