Phone Review: Motorola ES400S

In this review, I will talk about Motorola ES400S.

Motorola ES400S, in terms of design, is pretty huge if you compare it with today’s phones. In terms of length, the phone is 5.08 inches, while in terms of width, it is 2.38 inches. The thickness of the phone measures to 0.67 inches and the weight of the phone is 5.5 ounces. However, the size of the phone is because of its thick rubber padding. The phone is solid; it can make out through a 4-ft drop in complete shape. Even though some people may regard the hugeness of the phone as a negative, it is undoubtedly a solid phone for those who are careless with these devices.

The review will now discuss the phone’s features.

The 3’’ touch screen display of the phone supports 262,000 colors and boasts a WVGA resolution worth 640X480 pixels. The phone’s screen, as claimed by Motorola itself, is Super Bright 750+ NITS screen, which means that it is really bright as well as luminous. ES400S’s screen definitely puts forward vibrant graphics and the text appears to be crisp.  Also, there is an in-built accelerometer that will help changing the orientation of the screen as you rotate it. The touchscreen is resistive, so it is not as responsive particularly for those who have used capacitative touchscreens. The operating system of the phone is Windows Mobile 6.5.3. The main menu is honeycomb-style and the home screens can be custimzed. The QWERTY keyboard of the phone is also reasonable as typing on it is not a difficult task. The keys are spaced well and press smoothly and we had no issues with the phone’s keyboard at all.

The strength of the phone is in its features that are rather enterprise-friendly. Accessing the back-end systems of your company through this phone is easy but it depends on the kind of apps you make use of. Since the OS of the phone is Windows, you have the usual MSN Messenger, Windows Live, MSN Weather and other usual features present in windows phones. The phone supports GSM and CDMA depending on whether you have a SIM card in the phone or not. The phone also supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Now in the review, I will discuss the camera of the phone.

Motorola ES400S has a 3.2 megapixel camera that supports autofocus. Pictures can be captured in three resolutions and three different quality settings/modes. The quality of the camera is average but it is important to note that the phone is a business phone so the camera not being exceptional is understandable. The phone supports different video formats such as H.264, MIDI, WMA, AAC+ and others.

To finish off my review, I would say that Motorola ES400S is a good phone and is made for those who belong to the corporate sector. The performance of this piece of device is good and is perfectly suited for businessmen and corporates.
