Gmail has Introduced New Features

With the launch of Google+, Google opted for makeover to Gmail. According to company, updating process for Google apps is continuing and users can experience new improvements in upcoming weeks.

Some of the newly added Gmail features are multiple calling options, inbox style options, viewing RAR and ZIP contents without downloading, added sender information and Doc Spreadsheet keyboard shortcuts.

The multiple calling options was introduced last week working for both outgoing and incoming calls allowing callers to put call on hold to attend another. The inbox style options allows users to pick from several options to sort their incoming mail. The option includes unread first, starred first, priority Inbox etc.

Last week the previewing feature for both RAR and ZIP was added. From now on users can see the list of contents of the archive. They can also download single  files from the concerned archives to save to Google Docs. With the feature of added sender information, Google is attempting to minimize phishing attacks. In fact, from now on Gmail will attract the attention of its user if it detects that any messages are trying to steal user’s personal information. Users are also provided with option to report the concerned address.

A latest keyboard shortcut sheet is added within Google Doc spreadsheet. Users will be provided with list of shortcuts by hitting Ctrl+/ or Cmd+/ on Mac.
