Call of Duty XP 2011: A 2-Day Los Angeles Event

July 2, 2011 by: 0

The game franchise Call of Duty is one of the largest of all times. In order to celebrate the success of this game and to raise money for charity, Activision is throwing a party – and it’s a big one! The two day event will take place in Los Angeles on September 2-3. Call of Duty XP 2011 is open to the public, but you may want to get your tickets early for the event.

Tickets are $150 and they go on sale July 19. You can sign up at www.callofduty.com/XP. All proceeds from the event are going The Call of Duty Endowment. This is a not-for-profit group that provides jobs, funds, and other benefits for veterans who are returning from overseas.

According to Eric Hirshberg, who is the Activision Publishing CEO, “It will be far more than just a chance to play the game early.” The plans for the two-day event include developer meet-and-greets, keynote speeches, musical performances, and a paintball battlefield that is based on the Call of Duty game.

Think you’ve got what it takes to play the game against the best? Then you can compete in a $1 million Call of Duty Tournament. There will be qualifying tournaments all over the United States and a huge competition at the event. There are tons of prizes put up by both Activision and Xbox 360.

Right now, there is room for 6,000 attendees to get a chance to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which debuts November 8. Also, there will be information about the new online service, called Call of Duty Elite. It’s going to be on display and for those that don’t know about it yet, it’s for Modern Warfare 3 and future games in the Call of Duty franchise.

For those that can’t attend the event in person, there will be a ton of multimedia offerings, including photos, videos, and social media updates.
