Many people before the Sony’s press conference began at E3, had doubts that Sony might fail with their conference, due to the unfortunate hacking episode. But after the press conference, it is safe to say that Sony blew minds away. The main announcement of the press conference was about the PS Vita. Sony’s new portable console won hearts almost immediately. The new portable system hosts powerful specification for seamless PlayStation 3 like experience. The portable console adds a multi touch screen of 5 inches and a motion sensing mechanic, which will work similar like accelerometer for Smartphones.

The dual touch screen and full thumb pad controller allows its users the freedom of how they wish to control their game. In a demo of their most popular franchise, Uncharted, the company showed how anyone can utilize both the touch screen controls and hardware controls. This product has been named Sony’s biggest after the PlayStation 3, which was announced 5 years ago.

Sony further surprised the audience with the pricing of the system. The hand held PS Vita portable console will hit the shelves later this year, retailing in two different versions. The PS Vita will come with either a Wi-Fi only model or a Wi-Fi + 3G model. The prices of these models pretty much blew everyone away, with the Wi-Fi version costing only $249 and the Wi-Fi + 3G version for $299.

The handheld features almost everything that a next generation Smartphone does. It has a multi touch screen with dual cameras to support augmented reality.

One of the most interesting features of the console is the ability to seamlessly cross platform with the PlayStation 3. In another demo, an action RPG was played, where the developers showed how you could save your game on the PS Vita and immediately load the progress on your PlayStation 3, exactly from where you had left.

In addition to the launch of PS Vita, the company also announced their cloud gaming service, the PlayStation Suite, which will be available on every PlayStation certified device.
