The new release date for Angry Birds for Windows Phone 7 is now June 29th according to a statement released by Microsoft on Wednesday.
The very popular game is one of six new games that will be available via the Xbox Live “Must Have Games” program. The first will be Hydro Thunder Go and it will be available on May 25th.
At the MIX11 conference last month, Microsoft said that Angry Birds would be released at the same time. The good news is that when it does become available, it will have 195 levels and it will cost users $2.99.
This is the second time that Microsoft has delayed the Windows Phone version of Angry Birds. The game was originally supposed to be available on April 6th, but that statement was later amended to say the release would be later in the spring.
For those that are love classic arcade games, then Hydro Thunder Go will not disappoint you. The game costs $4.99 and has 12 different courses that you can power through against 15 very devious opponents.
On June 1st, you’ll get a shot at Doodle Jump for $2.99. This is from GameHouse and it will have you leaping from platform to platform using a variety of tools, including jet packs, propeller hats, and springs.
You have to avoid UFOS, broken platforms, black holes, and bad guys. The 8th of June will bring you geoDefense, which is a tower defense based game from Microsoft Game Studio.
Of course, another game that many Window Phone 7 users are looking forward to is the ever popular Plants vs. Zombies. It will be released on June 22nd and will set you back $4.99. That will be followed by Angry Birds on June 29th – we hope, anyway.
Angry Birds debuted in March and quickly amassed an incredible 10 million downloads.
