Laptop or PC – Which One is Better?

As years have passed, PC and laptop are both considered as useful tools for multitasking. But there’s a catch between these two gadgets. Laptop and PC are different from each other, but they do have one thing in common.

If there’s one thing in common between them, what would it be? Both PC and laptop allows you to create projects in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Of course you already know about them, but what else do we have? Both of them allows you to surf the internet and chat with your friends.

Now we know about their common purpose, we will know about their differences. Here are some of the things that PC and laptop are quite different from each other.

Weight and portability. PC is heavier than laptop. You know why? It needs you to have a monitor, CPU (Central Processing Unit), power grid, keyboard, mouse and speakers. It’s impossible for you to bring the PC while spending vacation in a mountain or beach resort. But on the other hand, laptop is more portable than PC.

The screen, keyboard, battery and touch pad are all together in one device. Laptops are easily to be carried or even put it in a bag. You can bring your laptop anywhere you want, even if you’re on a vacation.

Internal Memory. PC has the greater advantage over laptop in terms of internal memory. When playing online games and movies, PC has the strength to give you quality experience like no other.

On the other hand, laptop’s memory can only be upgraded up to 4 GB (gigabytes). Although it may be enough for you to watch movies and download big files, but not for online games.

Storage. Once again, PC has the advantage over the laptop in terms of storage. Your PC can store files up to 1 terabyte, while laptop’s capacity will be up to 500 GB. If you have tons of files to be stored, you need a personal computer to store it for you. If in case you don’t have tons of files, laptop can be your alternative.

Battery. When it comes to battery, laptop has the advantage over PC. When you buy a laptop, it already has a built-in battery inside which can last up to 8 hours. In case your battery is not good, you can still replace it with another battery.

On the other hand, PC has no battery inside. In case of power interruption, your PC will shut down immediately. Unless you have a UPS, your PC cannot be easily interrupted.

Wireless Device. Once again, laptop has the advantage over PC in terms of wireless access. Your laptop already has a built-in Wi-Fi device that allows you to access the internet.

You will no longer need an Ethernet wire, which was used by most PC users. Speaking of PC, it has no built-in wireless device and you need to use an Ethernet to access the internet.

Which one do you think is better? Is it the laptop? Or the PC? For most users worldwide, it really doesn’t matter for them. Whether if it’s a PC or laptop, they still need it for business and entertainment like no other.

Personally, I think PCs are good for heavy-load tasks. When I chose mine, friends recommended me to go with Dell (www.dell.com/ca/p/desktops) which is what I did and have no regrets at all. My PC has never let me down and if anyone is looking for a computer that is powerful and speedy my advice would be to choose Dell.
