Amazon Apologises for Cloud Computing Fault

Famous online retailer Amazon apologized to its users for the fault in their web hosting service EC2, that knocked down many reputed websites. The disruption occurred on last Thursday hampered the services of popular websites like Foursquare, Reddit, Quorra. The sites went offline for several days as a result of disruption.

Amazon’s EC2 or Elastic Compute Cloud offers processing power and storage to companies who lack their own data centers. The apology came after a week’s silence on this issue. In order to help their clients compensate Amazon is giving its users a 10 day cloud service credit, irrespective of the fact that whether they are affected or not.

In the statement Amazon said that they were aware of the fact how critical is their service to customer’s business and they will do everything to learn from this event to use it to improve their services. Amazon further said that it promised to spend many hours over the coming days and weeks to improve the understanding of the details to improve services and processes.

In recent times, cloud computing is the fastest growing business which is gradually becoming important to increasing number of businesses and individuals for remote storage of data.
