Walt Disney spokeswoman Carrie Davis confirmed that Togetherville, a family oriented version of online social network Facebook, has been bought by Walt Disney Company for families and kids.

Togetherville was launched last year for children between the age group of six to ten years to virtually mingle with friends and approved grownups. In Togetherville there are no strangers or avatars or anonymous persons, as only a parent can build his child’s account and post pictures and give real name to build and foster real world relationship.

The Executive Director of online safety advocacy group Connectsafely.org and Co-Founder of LinkedIn, Which is a social network completely devoted to fostering career and business connections are part of Togetherville’s team of Advisors.
