The market share of the biggest mobile phones manufacturer in the world, Nokia, has decreased with 7& in the second trimester of the year, and is now at 34,2%, with 111,4 million units solid, compared to 105,4 million sold in the same period of last year, according to the most recent report of the Gartner research company.
In the same situation we can also find other Top 10 manufacturers like LG, Sony Ericsson or Motorola ( who recorded a dramatic decrease of 50% in the last two years ). Some of the manufacturers who recorded growth is Apple, RIM, Samsung or HTC.
Regarding mobile phones operating systems, on the first place we can still find Symbian from Nokia, closely followed by Blackberry. Android is on the third place, the Google operating system managed to beat the iPhone OS of Apple.
Smartphones sales have increased with 50%, third times more than the increase of the entire market, the Gartner report also shows. Overall, the entire mobile phones market grew with 13.8% at 325,6 units, because of the decrease of price because of the hard competition between manufacturers.
