AVerTV Hybrid Volar HD, a great TV Tuner for Laptops

Currently, are are witnessing a real inflation of USB TV Tunner’s. And its true that they are very practical mainly on laptops because of their portability. However this doesn’t mean they can’t just as easily be used on any computer. Such a tv tunner is the Hybrid Volar HD from AverTV.

Just like the AverTV pilot, Volar HD has the construction of an USB Stick, and the same antenna. Unlike the Pilot, Volar HD does not have GPS support.

AverTV Application

On the testing system, running on Windows 7 64 bits, installing the drivers and software was very easy and without any problems. Along with the AverTV application, the user can opt to also install the SnugTV program. With the help of this program, the TV signal is transmitted through streaming, and can be viewed by any computer connected to the Internet from the web browser.

We can’t talk about the image quality only for the analogue signal. DVB-T is seen based on transmission and signal. So, the analogue image quality is very good, if the signal received through cable is strong enough.

Maybe the most important advantage, one that can differentiate AVerTV Hybrid Volar HD from other similar products is the DVB-T antenna. It offers a very good reception of DVB-T tv stations, better than some of the more expensive ones.
