The San Francisco local administration adopted a bill through which mobile phone operators are required to place posters in which to specify the exact level of irradiation emitted by the mobile phones.

The San Francisco Local Administration wants each consumer to be aware of the exact level of irradiation emitted by the mobile phone they are using and which of the devices on the market is the safest device for the health of consumers.

The bill was not very well received by the Telecommunications Industry Association. The organization filed a law suit to make sure that the bill adopted by the local authorities will never be applied.

In the US, a mobile phone has to have an authorization to attest the fact that the level of radiations emitted are not risky, only then the phone can be released on the market.

The Mayor of San Francisco, liberal Gavin Newsom said that he is disappointed by the fact that the big players in the telecommunications industry rather spend important sums of money in Court instead of working with the authorities to create a legislation to protect the consumer as well as the manufacturer.

The local administration of San Francisco is known for the “green” decision they made in time, like banning the use of plastic bags.
