A group of researchers from the MIT University have found a way to increase the speed of Internet download and upload 100 times or even 1000 times.
The “magic” behind this concept requires the reduction or even removing the required optical signal conversion time into an electrical one for memory storage.
This conversion appears in the moment in which multiple optical signal make their way through a router in the same time, and the conversion to an electrical signal is required to be able to be processed and then reconversion in optical signal for processing and sending them further.
Professor Vincent CHan from the MIT University has showed the need to convert and store data including the passage ways that have high traffic in unidirectional systems.
