Apple sold 1.7 million iPhone 4 phones in three days

The Apple Company, announced on Monday that in the first three days since the iPhone 4 debut they sold 1.7 million phones.

iPhone 4 made last Thursday it’s debut in stores in the United States, England, Japan, France and Germany. Until the end of the month, the phone will be available for sale in other 18 countries, among which we mention Australia, Canada, Italy, Spain and Switzerland and by the end of September the phone will be available on the markets of 88 countries.

Compared to the release of the last model, iPhone 3GS, Apple sold 1 million units in the first weekend.

The success of iPhone 4 was expected, considering that before it’s release on the market of the product, Apple and it’s executive operator on the market in the United States recorded more than 600.000 pre orders in a single day.

Analysts expect that the new model will help Apple to sell 36 million iPhone units in this fiscal year, which ends in September, 73% more than they sold in the last fiscal year.
